(to Evan)

Didn’t know
where I was
headed more
days than not,
muddled through
my existence,
confused and lost.
You were an
accident that
among the sorrows
agony and loss
made no sense at all.
Yet, against the odds,
you became
my friend,
my peace,
my direction,
and you are worth
everything once
shattered in my life.
